How Do You Get There?

In our work together, depending on what you are looking for, we use Counseling, or Neurofeedback and Counseling together.

In either case, our therapy is Evidence Based and Neuroscience informed.

What is Neurofeedback?

Mental Health challenges are not just a chemical imbalance or as some think, a character issue. Often the challenges lie in the electrical activity of the brain. Thate where neurofeedback comes in.

What neurofeedback does is teach your brain to change the electrical patterns (brainwaves) that keep you from being your best.

How does it work?

If, for example, you are anxious, you probably don't have enough of the brainwaves associated with relaxation. With neurofeedback, we can teach you to have more relaxed, focused brain function.

Depression, ADD/ADHD, panic disorder, brain injury and other issues also have characteristic brainwave patterns that we can help you to change.

Over 3,000 studies, in peer reviewed scientific journals, show that Neurofeedback works.

This is a great alternative for people who would rather not use medication. But even if you are taking medication, neurofeedback can still help.

We love our work and genuinely respect our clients.

Many therapists use the "uh huh, go on" approach.

We do much more. Though we are good listeners, we also help you to set goals and achieve them.

How?

Through using proven, effective tools for change that you can learn.

What Other Experts Say About Neurofeedback

“In my experience with EEG Biofeedback… many people are able to decrease their need for medication. Also, EEG biofeedback has helped to decrease impulsivity and aggressiveness. It is a powerful tool, in part because the patient becomes part of the treatment process by taking more control over his own physiological processes.”

Daniel Amen, M.D.,

The Amen Clinics

“Among the newer approaches to managing ADD, the most exciting is a learning process called neurofeedback. It empowers a person to shift the way he pays attention. After more than twenty-five years of research in university labs, neurofeedback has become more widely available. This is a pleasing development, because neurofeedback has no negative side effects.”

William Sears, M.D.

From Dr. Sears’ book, The A.D.D. Book

“I find it unfortunate when physicians including those involved with TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) neurorehabilitation tell patients that after 18 months they have obtained all the return they can expect and will have to learn to adapt to their remaining deficits. I have often seen neurofeedback produce significant improvements years after the original injury.”

D. Corydon Hammond, PhD, Professor Emeritus, University of Utah School of Medicine

"The American Academy of Pediatrics has just announced that EEG biofeedback is now a “Level 1” – “Best Support” intervention for Attention & Hyperactivity Behaviors (ADD and ADHD) for “Evidence-based Child and Adolescent Psychosocial Interventions”. This important announcement recognizes the powerful effects of EEG Biofeedback in providing a non-invasive, non-drug treatment for ADD/ADHD as well as a wide range of other disorders."

The American Academy of Pediatrics

"The literature, which lacks any negative study of substance, suggests that EBT (EEG Biofeedback Therapy) should play a major therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion, if any medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy it would be universally accepted and widely used."

Do I have to have Neurofeedback?

Absolutely not. We find that talk therapy and neurofeedback used in conjunction allows for faster progress in the great majority of clients, but if you prefer traditional therapy on its own, we respect that, and we won’t recommend neurofeedback if it’s not right for you.

Do you accept insurance?

We are not in-network insurance providers. However, we can provide you with a superbill that you can take to your insurance company for reimbursement. Our rates are quite reasonable and no network providers offer neurofeedback.

I haven’t been the same person after my brain injury. Is there any hope?

Yes. Time and time again, we have helped people suffering from loss of function after brain injury and concussion to achieve their former level of performance.

Can this help my child with academic success?

Neurofeedback often has extraordinary results for young men and women suffering from ADHD and other learning disorders and because focus can improve, so does their ability to comprehend schoolwork.
